I've had a fortnight off work and whilst the first two days were busy, today was chaos. Started off with some gentle admin until 0900 when I had to deal with IT engineer wanting to migrate the main server, sorting out two computers so they can see each other's local printer, see two very poorly patients and sort out general crap at the same time. By the time I'd got things sorted, it was 1500 and I managed to sit down to sort out the 3-inch high admin work I picked up when I walked in this morning. At which point I get a call about a patient who wanted to have a chat. Duly rang them back to find out they had taken an overdose and were bleeding. Called 999 and ran off to see them. Paramedics beat me to it because the route I'd normally take has roadworks. By the time I got back to the surgery I was already an hour behind (though kindly the other doc in the practice saw some of my patients).

By the time I'd finished, I still hadn't touched that bleeding pile of paperwork, so stayed behind to complete it all.

An utter pants day.

Manual data population, such an arduous task :(

I am absolutely [LIFTED] sick of City Link. 1st delivery not at my house yet signed for by James. 2nd delivery also not at my house yet signed for by Phil. Now I have to wait another 3 days before I find out what happened (which I'll never find out).

Why is it so difficult to find a pen that works these days? Seriously, if it's not 'skipping' it just doesn't allow for any real movement in use... Anyone got a brand they stick to?

I tend to use gel rollerballs and not had problems with pens sticking etc. I find standard ballpoint pens stick/jump if they've not been used for some time. Fountain pens need encouragement to get the ink flowing if not used for a while.

So, BT blow £900 million on the champions league coverage rights. Whoop de-frikkin-do.

I wonder, how many remote communities could have massively improved internet access for that?

In work at midnight on a Saturday to reset our phone system because the voicemail has fallen over and brought everything else down around it.

Not an ideal end to a Saturday.

Parker. I still use the Parker 25 fountain pen I bought when I started secondary school.

Can't say I've ever had any serious issues with Pilot V5 Hi-Techpoint pens. Not refillable but I do find them very nice to write with.

my favourite pen is a Pilot V Signpen. It's a rather fat felt tip pen
on my desk at the moment:
2 stabilo sensors,
1 Artline
2 Mitsubishi technical drawing pens
2 plain biros
1 Pentel Ultrafine in green
Severela felt tip finelines.

I've been doodling at work.

Normally a bog-standard Bic biro, but I have a Sharpie Pen at the moment; although only because someone ordered them in error.
