Does MSN for Mac use the inbuilt iSight camera?
PocketCam is wanting to override it, and I don't know how to get my iSight back.

That's rubbish.
How can I get a vid chat with someone that's using MSN then?

Could I suggest both of you using Skype? Or getting them to use iChat (perhaps the less popular choice, I'll wager)?
Or you could look at aMSN which is an open source MSN clone that does video, however, YMMV. Might be worth a spin though.

I've got it working. Just removed the PocketCam video driver, restarted the Mac and it works.
The other party has to initiate the vid chat though, but that's cool, at least they can see me now.

They've literally just (as in I think it was the day before yesterday) released a new version of Messenger for the Mac which does indeed support video chat in a reasonable way. I don't have a built in camera, I have some weird third party USB job and it supports that, so I assume it will support iSights. have a look here, might be worth updating. Other than that, Skype supports video on the Mac too.

I really need another job.
Some back of an envelope maths suggests I'm making ~£6k.
This is not enough, frankly.
I've got [LIFTED] I need to do, and I don't have the income to get me into what I want to be doing.
It's immensely frustrating.

I'm gonna assume you mean The Pacific. However, it is simply not the new Band of Brothers. There will never be another Band of Brothers. The Pacific is good, granted. Very good even. The characters are well drawn, the island hopping nature of the eps keeps things interesting and the effects, photography and realism are all incredible.

But the boys in it aren't as memorable as Winters, Nixon, Joe Toye, Doc Roe, Bull Randleman. Bill Garneire (sp), Shifty Powers, Carwood Lipton, Lt. Spears, Babe Hefron, Malarkey, the list goes on.
