The Mister and I put down our first ever Hangi this weekend. Fire started (eventually) at about midnight, very, VERY hot by about 2am. Hot rocks put into the pig carcass and the pig wrapped in wet hessian before going into the hole, surrounded by potatoes wrapped in foil, then buried under soil. Left to cook until 12:30 the following day at which point the juicy meat was so tender it fell straight off the bone.
Entire BBQ massive success, no serious rain, lots of fantastic exotic meats and everyone had a great time. Massive thanks to the Mister for all his hard work and even though there are a few things I will change next time, our first Hangi is being chalked up as a great success!

I'm no longer out of breath and suffering jelly legs after riding my pushbike. I'm also feeling much more confident with control and road positioning. Feeling up for an adventure a bit further afield soon.

Have you take the stabilisers off yet?

I was there. It was awesome. So tender it was carved with salad tongs!

It was awesome! There will be repeat performances as often as we have firewood for, it was fun to do, amazingly tasty and will vastly reduce the washing up. If you can ever get to the Midlands on a Saturday night we'd be happy to attend to your medical needs

My bone density scan today showed another improvement over last year. My hips are getting better than my back, but then I don't walk with my back so I would expect a little difference between the two areas.
Now to wait for the professional opinion of the specialist in November.

My car's indicators are either on or off. They refuse to perform an MOT friendly flash. Which is a problem, since the MOT is up at the end of the month. So, I'm thinking it's probably the flasher unit that's shuffled off this mortal coil. Priced one up from my usual US supplier, and was somewhat resigned to a £15 p&p fee for a £4 part. Rang around a few companies here in the UK, found the part for £3.20 and £2 P&P. Should be here by Thursday.

I have installed an app that makes my Android 2.3.3 phone look like Windows Phone OS! Personally I prefer the look and feel of Windows Phone, the 7 home screens of Android seem a bit much to me, it ends up looking like a messy version of the applications list. I only use 5-6 apps often so this is better for me. The Live Tiles are also really neat.

Bought a 1.6 Celeron laptop with a nasty spray job attempt on the lid for £55. Got a replacement lid on ebay £4.20 delivered and a mobile Pentium dual core CPU for a fiver. Swapped the lid over, and fitted the CPU - the laptop looks almost brand new, and runs sweet.

How authentic is it? Do you get the odd blue screen of death?

Yeah, I do like WP7. But it is too finicky, when it comes to e-mail and certificates. Our Exchange Server certificate is for the wrong domain (internal) and WP7 refuses to connect to it, out of security grounds! Other than that, I prefer it to iOS... That said, my boss got a Samsung Galaxy SII (replacing his iPhone 4*) this week and it is very nice. Seriously thinking about looking at a Sensation or Galaxs SII. *He has had 4 iPhone 3GS and now 4 iPhone 4s in under 2 years - 3 iPhone 4s in under 2 months! The build quality on the iPhones is dreadful, he is hoping that the Samsung will be better. 2 dud batteries and 2 with WLAN and Bluetooth problems (BT range < 30cm, Wi-Fi signal practically non existent). His telephoning for 2-3 hours a day with the thing doesn't seem to do the iPhone battery any favours and they tend to fail in a few months. At least with the Samsung, we can swap the batteries out!
