Lost was the epitome of 'big idea with no follow-ups', and the studios still don't give a sh1t because people are still tuning in to be badly disappointed either by shows getting cancelled or utterly taking the piss years down the line.

They're basically employing the entire English acting community at this point.

This was promising to be the bleakest edition of The Antiques Roadshow for a long time.

For a show that has increased it's audience year upon year, I guess it isn't doing so badly for a 'crap show'. (8+)

One of the cable channels is showing The Streets of San Francisco. I remember watching it when I was a kid, so been catching a few episodes. It's not bad, but what I didn't relapse then is how many actors who I recognise from other roles who were in that series, usually before they were famous.

Certainly Michael Douglas (one of the leads) fits that role, as does Richard Hatch (who took over from Douglas in later series. I've seen episodes with Sorrel Booke (best remembered as Boss Hogg), Mark Hamil, Andrew Robinson (who played Garack in Star Trek DS9). Established names spotted include Dean Stockwell (who played a recovering sex offender being set up by his shrink), Leslie Nielsen, Brock Peters (Soylent Green, various admirals in the Star Trek Movies, and Benjamin Sisko's father in DS9).

What is weird is most of these faces are younger than you'll know them. It's hard to spot some of them.

Also The Street's title card use the same font as used in the later series Starsky and Hutch.
