I can't actually tell if Sony didn't think it through (who was gonna buy a system that couldn't easily play the games you already had? Or your mate's games?), if they were using it as a test of downloading willingness, or if they were just trying to squeeze more money out of an already slim user base... Probably an element of all three

The PS3 will actually be a present to myself mate. It's the games that will come from elsewhere. I am tempted even though I've not bought a PS3 just yet. Tight git, seeing if any other offers come along. At the mo I'm looking at the 250GB PS3, Uncharted 2 bundle, from comet of all places because I have a 10% code that would make it about £255 which is about £10 less then anywhere else.
