What a strange case.

Asylum seekers forced wear to coloured wristbands

To paraphrase Ben Goldacre, has it really reached the point where we're having to tell the private companies running our asylum system not to act like the Nazi party?

Search engine lets users find live video of sleeping babies | Technology | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2 ... ing-babies

This is precisely why not only is the 'IoT' pretty much a waste of time and effort, it's also seriously dangerous and intrusive when you lose control of it. We already know our own government will happily enable multi-million illegal breaches of privacy and data, and next to nobody is aware of Shodan.

Quote:
Other things that have bubbled up on Shodan recently really shouldn’t be connected to the internet at all. In September 2015, a France-based director at a major international company specialising in cyber security told researchers from Chatham House that they used the site and found “all of the nuclear plants in France that are connected to the internet”.

That talks around a question I've asked for years - WTF are major utilities doing online where they can and inevitably will be hacked?

Darlington head teacher tells parents to 'wash and get dressed'

Quote:
A primary school head teacher has written to parents asking them to wash in the morning and stop dropping their children off in their pyjamas.
Kate Chisholm, of Skerne Park Academy, Darlington, made the appeal after she noticed more and more adults wearing pyjamas at the school gates as well as at meetings and assemblies.

More here.

I feel sorry for the teachers having to deal with such slobs.

WTF? My wife would kill me if I tried to leave the house in my pyjamas... What are these people thinking?

And they are moaning here that they are wearing tracksuit trousers.

Seriously they should be glad the kids are at school on time. Who cares what the parenst are wearing? Some are so frazzled trying to get numerous kids out of the door on time they haven't even had time to think about themselves.

Not that I would ever do it (plus I don't have kids) but there are better things in the world to worry about.

Really? That's what you're going with?
Okay, my Mum never had this issue when she was trying to get me and my two brothers out the door for school in the mornings.
So if my Mum could deal with us, there's really NO excuse for parents today to do this.

IIRC mum used to make sure we were dressed, prep breakfast and whilst we ate, she would get ready. We would all walk to primary school together.

Looking for the "Game of Life" board game (German version). It costs nearly 60€ on Amazon and used it costs over 40€. My wife also wanted Mankomania, but that costs 100€!

These are just simple board games!

Is that the right version? Can't find the other game... Amazon's listings are weird sometimes, but Curiua.com product searches it's European operation to give buyers the best price, though you still have to factor in postage right at the end usually.

EDIT - Crap, picture's different when I click through

I found that as well, but that is the English version, which is why the price is so cheap... As none of the family can read English fluently, it isn't really an option, I would have to translate each card and be accused of cheating, because I am making up the rules!

What's your version of Argos called? Or does the Hasbro website list retailers?

We don't have an equivalent of Argos.

I'll give Twenhafel in town a go next week, if I get a chance.
