Happily all my stuff is hosted on virtual servers in data centres so it would be their problem :D

We have a rack in a data centre, but it's all our kit. That's in Docklands so I could probably get there by train, but we have hot-standbys for some critical stuff which I could swap over from bed with an iPhone.

The main problem is the several thousand customers we maintain. Luckily, most of them are closed because of the snow so it should be fine ;)

Quite possibly the same as I use then.

Yeah grateful I don't have that problem.

Yay more snow, and the good stuff.

I'm tempted to get my skis out.

Snow day

That happened earlier in the week to me. I had to get a Windows sysadmin to feed a server a Linux CD and click next lots over the phone to replace an Oracle server with a naughty disk controller. The annoying thing is that we will replace said box with a dual node Oracle RAC next month.

A bit more snow overnight here, but no +ve temps forecast until next week.

WDC (wycombe district council) have to take the biscuit
they are only gritting 4 routes no other roads are getting any grit at all

no buses again as they can't get up or down the hills in or out of wycombe
and if the buses are not making it then im not even going to attempt the run into work

will wait and see what tomorrow brings …

Clear blue skies here. Possibility of more snow tomorrow, apparently. Or just rain.

Well after my smugness in the lull thread, I am now trapped at work/home alone because nobody else can get here and it's only just stopped snowing :(

Everything's covered in the bloody stuff. My MOT is due tomorrow and I've run out of food. Ruuubish! It never snows in Cornwall. At least not properly.
