+1 as to the why. I'd always be far happier seeing Webber win than Vettel. Vettel has the temperament of Schumacher at his worst, just not the ability.

And it angers me how Vettel got preferential treatment earlier in the season.

Sorry I had Webber on the brain. I obviously meant the cheating-German-smug-one-finger-in-the-air-twat Vettel.
I'd actually like to see Webber win the WDC.

What happens if two drivers have the same number of points?
Is it settled by number of wins? Number of pole positions? Their manufacturers ranking??

I can't read your post Oli - all I can see is the start of the quote. I'd like to see vettel and alonso finish equal first, if it meant they had to do a lap in one of those fisher price little tykes cars.

Hmm...
Here it is again without a quote...
7) DEAD HEAT 7.1 Prizes and points awarded for all the positions of competitors who tie, will be added together and shared equally. 7.2 If two or more constructors or drivers finish the season with the same number of points, the higher place in the Championship (in either case) shall be awarded to: a) the holder of the greatest number of first places, b) if the number of first places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of second places, c) if the number of second places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of third places and so on until a winner emerges. d) if this procedure fails to produce a result, the FIA will nominate the winner according to such criteria as it thinks fit.

News from today's Paris court hearing... Ferrari receive no more punishment on team order chargeI think we all knew that would be the outcome, what a waste of time and money! I guess the rule regarding team orders will be scrapped now, it's not worth the paper it's written on. I was kind of hoping they'd make an example of Ferarri, but knew it was very unlikely they would. Now if it had been McLaren...

Yeah, £50 million and banned for a season. This stinks. Ferrari have been getting away with murder for 10+ years.

It is far more political than we probably realise.

The sad fact is that the FIA needs Ferarri on the grid, they probably couldn't risk them taking their ball and walking away - which might have been a possibility if the punishment had been too severe. Trouble is, this just opens the door for all teams to blatantly issue team orders with no punishment, or as in Ferarri's case only a monetary one - which was just a bit of loose change to them.

Yes but I would have thought that McLaren and Williams were in that league as well.
