Well, I didn't see the Nigeria game but I would say that the big teams have been so laid back about the whole thing it's embarrassing.

Aside from the Greeks, who didn't even seem to want to win, I wouldn't say the Swiss approach is a problem. They don't have the best players but they have a good team and know what they're good at. It's up to other sides to overcome them. It would be a foolish manager who knew what their team was good at and ignored it all just to give the viewers a spectacle.

The BBC have already started their "build up" coverage on the website, seems excessively early to me, but for those interested: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... s/match_37

I love the world cup but I hate the media hype. Take the recent goings on with the England camp. It happens in every sport, often, and yet they tried to milk it for all its worth. As Jürgen Klinsmann said he's not sure why anybody is worried or concerned.

I'll be setting foot on a rig half an hour before kick off. Time to deal with abuse from all the Scotish biggots again*.
* This is true of most Scots on rigs. As to other Scots, I have no idea. I have never found any support for fellow UK teams offshore, only abuse for the English. This is not me being a biggot myself, just saying how things are.

Just got a call which means I'm off to Somerset for a morning factory visit first thing tomorrow.... so that means I need to go home (3.00ish) and get some overnight bits and a clean shirt before setting off (5ish)....
One good result lets hope for another.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Oh yeah. It was quite entertaining in work, the someone muffled cries of "yeah" going round the office floor! (We work in a call centre so have to keep the noise down)

That scramble in front of England's goal was a teensy bit stressful Come on, England and get a second! My nerves can't take it.

Rooney off, Joe Cole on. Rooney got a bit of a knock by the look of it.

Heskey's coming on for Defoe? Now I'm even more nervous.
