Shakespeare must be spinning in his grave.

Mark

EDIT - Actually, it wasn't him that was the inspiration for that particular film, so my bad.

It's OK - apparently he could be one of any number of people ;)

The Walking Dead proves one again that no one in the list of characters, even those in the principal cast, is safe.

Which is how good TV should be. Just because you are one of the main characters doesn't make you immune to gunfire, disease, etc.

If you know the main characters are always going to be OK in the end it doesn't make for very exciting watching IMO.

There are theories that suggest it may not be, pointing to the situation, IMDB entries, discussion on The Talking Dead. Next week's episode probably won't clarify it.

Writing in a non spoilery way is tough.

Citizen Khan is still awkwardly written, full of clumsy, hackneyed plots, acted by a cast who would probably be better off doing something else, and reminds the viewer of the worst kind of sitting room sitcoms from the 1970s. And that's BEFORE you ask yourself if it's really an appropriate way to portray that part of our society in this day and age. All that programme does is make me wonder is HOW we have stumbled into that darkness after the delights that Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars brought us.

Citizen Khan is in its third series. I fail to see how it got this far.

Only what I read, but apparently the very community it's stereotyping to some degree are what's keeping it in the schedules. I agree with you, everything about it feels like a terrible throwback. But then that's really popular now, seemingly. Miranda stole elements from Allo Allo left, right and centre. Open All Hours has barely changed. Count Arthur Strong...

If someone went into blackface and did something like Citizen Khan, there would be uproar. Which explains why we don't see repeats of It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

Miranda borrows heavily from old sitcoms, and pays very little back by way of interest, let alone capital. Still Open All Hours is at least written by the original writer (and I get the feeling that it's old scripts just updated). Interesting to note that David Jason and Lynda Baron are about the same age, which changes the dynamic of the original series for me somewhat.

Count Arthur Strong can be clumsy, but it does enough of the frustration comedy I like to keep me intested, though I don't think it survived the transition from radio well. I think the intervention of Graham Linehan is misguided, and possibly responsible for it's patchy feel.

I've been enjoying The Kennedys. Hardly ground breaking, but it's been one of those treasures that's been allowed to just sit there in the schedules and fend for itself.
