Every time I consider what a trip to America would be like, I remember sh1t like the above, airport security, and the fact that I'm likelier to be shot to death there than I am in Belfast.

How utterly ridiculous! Every day the Americans seem to come up with another good reason why I don't want to live there.

I've read your posts about your wife and I always felt sad about it. My fiancée is normally wonderful but sometimes she gets p***ed off. The traffic wasn't my fault, neither was the flat tyre but it's ruined her day. It's something that I'm noticing more and more, and I don't know whether she's just having a bad day and taking it out on me, or whether it's her true nature.

If anyone watched the BBC Girls can code programme. I'm still flabbergasted! I think it's set developers about 20 years back.

Speaking as a member of the gender under question, my experience is that women tend towards personalising things much more if they have been put out or have been made to worry. In reality I don't expect that your fiancee really feels that it's your fault about the traffic or the flat tyre, but if she was worried about you, if you didn't communicate enough (or in the right way) if she had expectations for the evening or if she was put out (ruined dinner etc etc) then her frustration and relief may have come out as annoyance. I don't personally understand this as a concept, but I've seen it very often in others.

Missus and I went to get some ice-cream sundaes at an ice-cream parlour a short drive away. Arrived there only to find it was now open on Fri-Sun only. Nothing on their website about this. Ended up going to Zizzis where, after a starter and main, we ordered a toffee and choc nut sundae. Only to be told there were no nuts for the sundae.

No. We really don't. It'll get used loads for a bit and then get shoved into the back of a cupboard. TBH what we really need are ice-cream sundae dishes/glasses. The Zizzi's one was just dark choc ice cream, vanilla ice cream, slice banana, maybe some whipped cream, and caramel sauce. Obviously it was missing the caramalised peanuts. But I've read up online how to make both caramel sauce and the caramlised peanuts.

I've used several ice cream makers over the years. The only ones that are actually worth bothering with are the ones with built in refrigeration which therefore cost over £200. All the ones that use a previously frozen bucket or drum have the same problem - if they're small, they'll easily fit in your fridge-freezer but you'll get like two portions of ice cream. If they're big, you'll get a fair amount of ice cream but you'll have to empty your freezer to fit them in, unless you have a massive chest freezer anyway. And if you have a chest freezer, you should just buy some decent ice cream, it'll keep for ages.

Also, most of the bucket ones don't entirely freeze the ice cream properly - they tend to get it to 'soft' consistency and then you need to put it in a container and freeze it for a couple of hours for it to be 'proper' ice cream.

The point of an ice cream maker is surely to be able to make enough ice cream for everyone who wants some within a relatively short time frame i.e. effectively on demand. You can't do that if you have to put the bucket in the freezer overnight ahead of time. Only if you can say 'hmmm I fancy some ice cream' and have it half an hour later. Otherwise, going to a shop wins every time.

Halfords… excellent price on a ICE unit, fail on aerial and wiring loom adapter, neither of which were suitable for my needs. I should have known, it was only the price of the Alpine that got me through the door. ebay aerial phantoms r us.
Incidentally the speakers are coming from Amazon.de at a significant saving compared to uk sellers.

Did you use Curiua.com or whatever it's called? It came up trumps for a couple of Lego sets I have to say...

No I just changed the country at the bottom of the page. But that is good info for future reference. Thanks Ernie.

Only Sony would send you an email saying 'you don't seem super interested in our emails', then offer you a downloadable theme via a code without telling you what the theme is. Oh, you've also to fill out a survey. Yes.
