I really enjoyed it. Even the wife got into this series. I thought Matt Smith was an excellent Doctor.

Roll on the Christmas special and series 32.

Question. Everybody forgot about the Doctor except River, who gave Amy the blue book, presumably to jog her memory so she could bring him back.

Does this mean that all of his enemies have also forgotten about him, and do we think that when he came back they suddenly remembered him?

I'm thinking of Rory saying "How could we forget about the Doctor"?

The one thing that has gone a bit awry, is that in the library, she didn't realise that the Doctor had no idea who she was, because he was yet to meet her in his own time-line. However, as he has since regenerated, she must have known that the "next" time he would see her would be in his new form... BIG plot hole, but who cares.

I thought it might have been something whereby River caught him in between regenerations which she hadn't seen before. "I expected a later version of the doctor" (or WTTE). Although the plot hole then would be that supposed she has pictures of every incarnation, as such she should have known anyway.

I think it was more that the Doctor technically didn't exist before Amy remembered him, so therefore his enemies' wouldn't have known about him either. With him and the timeline restored however, i assume that everything's back to the way it was.

Although i was wondering now that since the Doctor technically didn't exist, during that point, what would have happened to all the adventures where the Doctor intervened (all the invasions, saving the world etc.) since it seems apparent that Earth was doing fine without him in history. As such it seems to imply that the Doctor's existence causes/attracts trouble for the Earth :P.

As for River, it's strange how she would remember the Doctor if he'd technically been erased from history... it may just be due to her being a time traveller though and that she has some special connection with the doctor (as it's all implied).

Katherine Jenkins to star in Christmas Doctor Who

Quote:
Opera singer Katherine Jenkins is following in the footsteps of Kyle Minogue by starring in a Doctor Who Christmas special.

The Welsh vocalist will feature alongside veteran actor Michael Gambon in this year's special episode.

Producers are promising a special twist on the much-loved A Christmas Carol theme.

Executive producer Steven Moffat described it as "all your favourite Christmas movies at once".

8-) :D ;) ....well except for that last line. BBC Clicky

I had to look her up.

Blimey, that's a healthy pair of lungs she has.

I was at a rugby international at the Millennium Stadium when she came out to sing the Welsh national anthem, which I think was one of her first major public appearances. When they showed her picture on the big screen she got more of a roar than the team did when they came out...

There's a look at Doctor Who down the years on iPlayer (the proper title escapes me at the mo) - the first show was about the Daleks by the look of it :)

In sort-of-related news:

Bill Pullman Joins Torchwood

Quote:
But now, with series spin-off Torchwood getting an infusion of co-production cash from US cable channel Starz, the quality level is ticking up just a little....

Bill Pullman and Mekhi Phifer have signed on to the cast of the new fourth season, known as The New World.

Quality level ticking up? Really? I hope US meddling isn't going to ruin Torchwood. Although Pullman and Phifer are fine at what they do it gives me the impression that the feel of the series will change. I hope I'm wrong and they don't try and tone down Captain Jack's proclivities.

More here.

I saw a people carrier today (in Manchester) that had the torchwood logo on the back window. Something show related or just a fan?

Probably just a fan, next season of Torchwood is shooting in America as far as I'm aware.

Correct. And they're still in pre-pro anyway.

Yeah, a casting call just went out for a young guy to play Jack's boyfriend in one of the episodes.
