I'll send good vibes in your Gran's direction.

Best Beloved's Mum had to have a major operation to sort out her colon when she was 93. She spent her last years with a colostomy bag, but coped really well. When BB went to visit her after the op, she was up and about and complaining about all the old people in the ward. :D

Is it the first time you've watched it?

Yep, I've seen bits of it in the past, although apprently only tiny bits of it judging by what I saw last night

You've done well avoiding it all these years hehe

If you like that kind of film you should read the books :)

I don't think I've actively avoided it, but I had a residual "terrified" feeling from the bits I had seen, my Mister reckoned it was good so we gave it a go last night and he was right. I might give the books a try, but I think we're planning to watch the other films as well :D

The books are so much better and if your going to watch the films watch Manhunter by Mann. Its so much the better of the two versions.

Hope she's OK. My Dad had a hip replaced recently but he's 73. If it's any consolation the surgery was very efficient and he was out within a few days.

I don't normally post here as I like to wait until the following day, but as I'm likely to be off the boards for the next week, I'll make an exception …

Yep, that's me. Two large slices of chocolate cake for breakfast'll do that. There's another slice left as well. (8+D

In a cottage by Windemere for a week.
This time tomorrow I'll probably be half-way (or more) up Helvellyn making my way along Striding Edge.

Glad for you, my eggy friend - well deserved. We expect piccies (but not too many - don't forget to look at the view yourself ;) )

You tried Helvellyn from the west (up the Chair)? It's supposed to be superb.
