I actually had a similar issue recently with my hosting provider. You can set a password with a " in it, and then it would always fail to log you in after that point. I'm guessing they've got a character encoding disparity between the password reset and login screens.

Probably not encoding the password or hashing it, but storing it "as-is" in the database, without escaping it first... #FAIL

My guess is the discs come via Amazon's tax loophole in Luxembourg, while the pens come from a UK warehouse.

That makes sense but it's still daft by making me spend an extra quid to tip the order over £20 they've probably increased their postage costs overall.

Ah the joys of mindless bureaucracy and inflexible rules.

Bought some new boots - arrived today, 2 days early. Win!
Check the picture on the box, right style, size.
Opened the box to discover entirely the wrong boots.

Returning them in the morning.

Pair number 2 arrived today.
Same issue. Wrong boots in the box.
Going back. Again.

Bah, now having tried a car with one (Vauxhall Insignia) who on Earth thought a button for the hand brake/parking break was a good idea?

Had a citron as a hire car last year with a button on the dashboard for the hand brake. Stupid idea that annoyed me for the entire two weeks that I had it.

Got a message at 9am asking to change the location of a meeting at 11am to Stafford. I'm in London still as I wasn't told about it before today & don't need to be in Crewe until the afternoon

Going through the pile of phones left by my desk while I was off

One note reads 'no audio output on handset, speaker ok'

Well of course there would be no audio on handset if it was plugged to the headset hole

Funnily enough everyone is denying it's their handwriting

No, although apparently there are now three around Manchester. There's a fair chance the whole place will just disappear at this rate. There's a junction of the M60 (Manchester's M25) where three motorways and a couple of major A roads all meet, and some.. idiot in a lorry spilled diesel all the way across the junction just before rush hour. Bedlam ensued, especially given most of the other roads around those routes are at reduced capacity due to roadworks.
