I hate those rapid clear ones. Always bugs me on the rare occasions I drive a Ford. My eyes periodically focus in the wires by accident. Really annoying.

Random stuff - Ford has a patent on front window demisting. Basically, they put the rear window demist system everybody else has, put it on the front window and claimed that as a patentable idea, and someone in a patent office somewhere agreed with them. That's why no other brand of car has that.

The mind boggles.

Really? I've read the patent story in multiple places most of which I would consider fairly reliable. I suppose it's not beyond some other manufacturer paying them a licensing fee for it. Given Phaetons are low volume luxury models it might be something they thought was worthwhile.

His Jaguar before it had it too, and it's something you can retrofit to a lot of cars from third party manufacturers.
So I'm guessing it's being licensed, but the impression I have is that the Jag system was different from the Ford system.

As ford owned Jag, I'm not surprised some of their cars have it.
Personally I find it annoying and would actively avoid buying a car with it if possible.

I had a dinky fiesta with the heated front windscreen. Made life easier. Had no issues with focussing past the wires.

It is.a little bit different. The wires are built into the glass, not glued on top of the glass...

My first thought was... what the [LIFTED] is someone doing taking photos in a public bathroom? If you did that round our way you'd end up picking your teeth out of one of the urinals.
