It wouldn't surprise me. I can't use it until I've waxed it anyway.

New low moving in and bringing heavy snowfall tomorrow and over the weekend here.
Scandanavia is supposedly having problems, they are having record cold, down to -40°C, which is knocking out power and overstressing the heating in places... The are driving to the shops to top up on wood, according to the radio news here.

I wonder whereabouts that is. I know Finland's got its usual winter, about -15/-25 down south and -30/-35 up north, warming up from Monday by the looks of things to -5/-10. Not sure about Sweden and the like but they've all got triple glazing so they'll be ok.

It's "only" going to be -7 here when I venture out to the pub on Friday. I'm currently taking bets; will I slip on the way home and fall on my arm again? They're predicting no rise above freezing until the end of next week. That makes this winter over a third snow and ice, and we've not had February yet. I wonder what the summer will be like. I remember it snowed in June '89, although it didn't settle. Perhaps this time it'll snow all year?

I want a freakin summer to make up for this. Down here we're screwed because you have to drive to go anywhere/do anything and it's no fun. I managed to drive the 30m home earlier at around 1530 but it was incredible scary and I probably shouldn't have done it. Took me 90mins and stressed me right out. This might happen oop north and in East Anglia, but it just doesn't snow in Cornwall. Not really. If I wanted to live somewhere pretty with a coastline, where it snowed a lot - I'd move to Scotland.

This is the whining thread. If you don't like it, then quit whining about the whining on the whining thread and read something else. No one is making you read it

Because I nearly bent my car today and so did my Dad. He's quite shaken about it frankly. And because I hate my life being impeded by severe weather. It's a pain in the ass. You deal with it.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I've decided the best plan of action is to drink beer. Having a pint or two is good in the short term as the energy will help keep me warm and then in the longer term it'll add insulation.

Come on someone has to sig that! Maybe because that would involve behaving like an adult. Or maybe because it would involve admitting that everybody is allowed to have their life be a pain in the arse. - Freezing to death in Irkutsk in Siberia
- Starving to death in Darfur
- Being trapped in North Korea with no hope of real life or escape
- Being kept under house arrest in Burma
- Having my home in my island paradise country swamped by the rising ocean
- Getting raided and shot at every night in the Congo
- A couple of weeks of quite cold and a bit of snow.
Hmm choices choices.

We had a couple of weeks of snow in 1999/2000 in the South (Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex), that was followed by a very warm summer, I seem to remember - I certainly rode my motorbike a lot that year, getting around 18,000 miles down in that year. Driving over to Lingen in a bit. About 120km round trip, to install a computer and sort out a printer problem... We've had -7°C over night, still around -6°C at the moment. I've been wearing my Dockers boots and my old Wrangler boots most of the time and haven't slipped yet. (quickly touches wood!).
