No the Marauder. You saw how pratical Hamster demonstrated it as a town car.

Or 8 fun ones. I'm reminded of Jay Leno's observation that real car fans don't own Ferraris because they know that for the same money you can buy a couple of far more fun cars.

I assume the E-Type has a lap seat belt and not a "typical" one? Since it looked like Clarkson was driving without a seat belt for all of it .

The young lady standing behind JC during the "news" was wearing a white T-shirt revealing her bra nicely was suddenly wearing a cardigan.... was it causing old git's like me blood pressure problems so the directed asked her to cover up?

"I'm just going outside to wax the growler" Imagine getting the chance to drive a car, any car, around Monaco on race weekend. Jammy barstools.

And going to the nice parties before hand on the ludicrously expensive yachts. And being paid to drive round rather fantastic bits of north Italy having a laugh. It's not a bad life being a TG presenter. Oh and by the way, I agree with May. The Growler actually looked pretty hideous. Jon

Those used cars... I really hope that Merc was one previous owner. Some chap could be sitting at home, and shouts the wife over "hey, look. My old Merc's on Top Gear!" Then they see the bit about the erm.. lady juice on the front seat, which the wife will likely want more information on.

Not a bad episode but nothing really standout in it. Bit of a 'filler' to be honest. Although Seb Vettel turns out to be surprisingly nice. Which is mildly irritating as I'd prefer to dislike him.

I thought exactly the same thing about vettel. How annoying that he's actually a nice guy! Doesn't make it easy to dislike him during the races.

I think they really missed a trick showing off some of the decent buys available
Had a quick look on autotrader myself and saw a number of Audi S4/S6's, BMW M3 convertables and 2k under budget with a previous gen 530i automatic with low mileage, even a 4 year old Mazda 3/6 MPS (2.3l turbo engine) is in the budget there and the 3 is comparable size wise, not to mention all the other last gen hot hatches about that size like a clio sport

To be fair to them they did illustrate that there was a wide range of nice cars you could get for the money - they had a field full. But the test was the cars they would buy given 7 grand and the whole market to go for. Being a grumpy middle aged man Clarkon went for an enormous Mercedes with tons of gadgetry he could then complain about not being able to work, and being basically a child Hammond went for something with a gimmick (pop up headlights). Depending on your criteria, you would pick different cars than they did. That doesn't make their choice 'wrong'. Why on earth would someone like Clarkson ever go for a hot hatch? Jon
