I was at Health & Safety Midlands this morning, there was a guy presenting who kept using the word "interrogate" instead of "integrate" It gave accident reporting a really sinister undertone!

Have settled on a nickname for a colleague: 50 shades of beige. Even the wife, when asking how my day was asks "Did shades have anything to say?" Love it when I come up with bitchy nicknames lol

I'm guessing it was swiftly followed by a squeal and a crunch as he hit the floor holding his boy bits.

The river here is about to burst its banks. It is flowing much faster than normal and over a metre above normal, also about 3 times as wide as normal.
What with the winds the last couple of days, and torrential rain, snows and sleet, it is pretty bad at the moment.
But at least we missed the worst of the storm, we only had around 100mph winds here, the really heavy stuff was a little further south (130mph). 7 dead so far.
But what I can't understand, there was work being done on a bridge and despite 130mph gusts, they didn't call off the work, so one worker was seriously injured when the scaffold was blown away!

Swam again this morning; I don't wear goggles and usually my eyes sting for 10 minutes afterwards and then feel ok. Today though, they're still really sore even now. I'm guessing they'd just run additional chlorine through the water but has anyone experienced something similar before? And for future reference know a solution post swim?
Sure, goggles is the obvious choice, I just dont really want to have to bother with them, especially as I do a lot of 'heads up breaststroke'.

You may benefit from soothing eye drops but ultimately, if the pool has chlorine in it the only thing that'll protect your eyes are goggles as far as I know (I imagine if there was something better they'd have been using it in professional events already).
