WTF is going wrong with superhero TV recently?
Wait for Netflix's output to start again.

Sadly I thought 'Jones was totally overhyped, but I'm looking forward to 'Devil season 2 because of the villains and anti-heroes. I'm really hoping the rest of the Defenders aren't as 'gritty' as 'Jones.

No sure is the new X Files is being truly realistic any more. Fox Mulder would be one of the talking heads on Ancient Aliens by now.

Finally finished my trip through the original X-Files. I watched the last episode last Friday. Unlike others, I don’t like to binge watch, so it was one episode every week day. I had hoped I would have got there before the start of the new series, but I missed the target by a few days.

Still, a bloody good series, even though series 9 was a bit odd, it was certainly worth the time taken.

I hope to go through them all agin in a year or so. I want to do two things:
1 - Include Millennium and The Lone Gunmen in the mix - ensuring that I get them to mesh with the X-Files. Each does cross into the other at times, so lining them up would be a fun thing to try.

2 - Log every Apple device in the X-Files. There’s a lot of them about - I’ve seen various laptops, monitors, even a G4 Cube Mac. Agent Doggett had a snow white iMac in his flat.

Watched a few good episodes of superhero TV just in time for me not to quit a bunch of them... Arrow had a very focused episode with some genius moments, and Supergirl was similar in that regard. This is what can be achieved when seasons aren't being dragged out, requiring filler and geek fan service episodes that do more harm than good. There have been some truly naff cameos recently.

Good! Hopefully we'll get back to a Bond who's a bit more fun ffs. Nobody minds stupidity if it's deliberate.

I'm pleased for the renewal, because I really liked the first two seasons, but I'm sad about Sky getting it, because that means I'll not get to see it. *sigh*

'Starring'? As in 'does the voice acting for one of the minor characters'??? Ah well, I suppose selling internationally makes it more likely they'll make more. It started off a bit ropey but by the end of it's run it was genuinely quite good.

I'm quite enjoying 'The Expanse'. Essentially an old school cold war thriller set on the future, with relatively 'hard' sci fi technology (e.g. no warp drive or ray guns). Has a bit of a feel of the more recent Battlestar Galactica about it.

Anyone watching Vinyl? Started watching the pilot last night and it looks good. Scorsese and Jagger obviously formed a bond when they did Shine a Light.

Salt was quite fun, but it was pretty generic. The only USP it had was the lead was female. You could make pretty much any spy series, put an actress the lead role and you'd be away.

I think it's around failed attempts to get a true sequel going. It made a disproportionate amount of money by Hollywood thinking IIRC.
