This week's American TV...

Supergirl - This episode went full Limburger in a show that's already cheesey. It was like one of those American soaps in places FFS, and they had no clue what to with their central idea to the extent it upset everything. Worst of all, they used characters and scenarios in laughable ways even for a show like this. I won't spoil anything, but there's a pair of boots in this episode that I imagine has countless Reddit threads by now.

Flash - Pretty much a purely talking episode, and dull as all hell with it. It's very much, 'Remember all that stuff from ten episodes ago? You know, timelines, parallel worlds etc? Well, we're gonna make your head hurt.'

Also contains one of the most insulting plot expositions in some time.

SHIELD - Thank fcuk for SHIELD this week, at least it had control of itself. It's still got way too many characters' subplots filling the time, but at least they're storyline useful. And it really helps when your storyline isn't bogged down with faux drama like the DC shows

This episode seems to have given the show a real focus, hopefully.

I totally get why flashbacks can be useful, but who isn't accepting Oli's character arc at this point? We're four years in!

Even worse, if they're not dull they're jumping the shark.

Gotham - After weeks of drivel, this show has had it's usual effect on me and kept me hanging in there with a good episode... Which it then looks set to ruin all over again going by the final few scenes. Why the fcuk doesn't it just focus on Bruce Wayne and core villains?!

Legends... - A good episode but the time travel rules are utterly haunting this show. It sets them out at the start, ignores them next time, then pretends they're fundamental. Before ignoring them again. It means you can't enjoy the show's genuinely good ideas because you know there's no real consequence to anything!

As I've said before, it needs a bible to set out the fundamentals. And fast. It might even tighten up the need to have explanatory time travel dialogue every fifteen minutes

That show's been dying for a long time.

GoT season six opener was a bit of a damp cloth, IMO.

damp squib, surely? And in any case, every series of GoT has taken a bit of time to get going IIRC. Haven't seen the episode yet though TBF.

We've been working on Prime series. Had to stop revolution as the science behind the series was just preposterous. Currently on the 100, under the dome .

The 100 is very good (also quite splashy in a lot of places). Is it just me or is the new thing to regularly kill of 'main' characters.
Can't comment on Under the Dome.

I have recently been enjoying Alpha House from Prime. John Goodman, very funny.

A squib would suggest an attempt at fireworks. This was simply cold, muted and unpleasant.

I shall refrain from spoilers for the moment, but it was a disappointment, IMO.
