Yeah, but why is it in the TV thread?

Because it featured heavily in the show mentioned in the previous post.

Yep. At least Orphan Black will be able to plan for the finale, by all accounts, the end of Penny Dreadful sets things up that won't now get any pay-off (I don't know the facts, I haven't seen it yet).

There's always something slightly naff about futuristic cartoons IME. For one thing they have to hark back to their original incarnation, never being truly one or the other.

Lynda Carter is going to be the president of the United States in S2 of Supergirl.
I really like how the actors of previous incarnations of superhero TV shows are being utilised in the current crop of shows.
It's a nice little nod to the longtime fans as well as an acknowledgement that the shows of yesteryear helped pave the way for the shows of today.

Is the president also from the same place as Wonder Woman?

I'd be surprised if they kept that much of a connection, to be honest.
Helen Slater's character isn't Kryptonian, neither is Dean Cain's, so having Lynda Carter play a character that has origins pointing to Themyscira is a little bit of a stretch, but hey, there's going to be multiverse episodes with the rest of the CW shows, so it's possible in different universes, I guess.
