Something running in the background? Facebook or email hung?
In the settings under battery / power you can usually see which apps are using the most power (I think that came with Android 4.3, I don't know what the Neo uses).

I went through the settings and couldn't see anything obvious. There were two apps running when I was handed the device last week, so I killed those and said to the user to keep an eye on running background apps. Mark

You know what is currently freaking me out? Footage of children in the news.
Weird? OK go with me for a second. You can't show kid's faces, even in stock footage, without blurring them out. And blurring requires time and effort. So they don't bother. what they do instead when they need stock footage of say 'Kids playing in a school yard' is they just film it, but they only film their legs and shoes. So you get footage of kids legs as they run about, climb things etc.
Now, being charitable, you can say this looks like whoever too the footage is a complete idiot who doesn't know how a viewfinder works. Being uncharitable, it looks like the video was confiscated some some sort of peadophile leg fetishist.
So now I've got it in my head that whoever took this footage is [lifted] up on a titanic scale, and I just don't want to watch it.
Seriously, not just get about 15 seconds of footage processed, get it independently checked that none of the kids in it are identifiable and then use it over and over again. It's got to be better.

Totally get it, cos it's something similar with waists when the monthly 'tax on sugar!' story hits.

Yeah, that totally confused me when I was in Blighty. Here we still get normal, unmolested footage. If they need footage of children, then they get releases from the school or parents and they don't blur anything out and they don't use leg fetishists as cameramen.
If the school / parents don't agree to the footage, they don't film them, simple.
On the other hand I hate all this blurring out of people on the street (in documentaries, for example). The blurring hurts my eyes, my left eye is weaker and tries to over compensate when something is out of focus, so showing the focus point of the image deliberately blurred and my left eye freaks out trying to focus. It leads to a nervous twitch in the eye, tiredness and headaches.

What is wrong with people selling washing machines on eBay? 'Excellent condition, needs attention' is a contradiction. If it needs attention, it's not in excellent condition.

Okay peeps, two questions : 1) how do I check what version of Android a Samsung Galaxy S neo mobile is using? 2) how do I go about disabling apps on the same device?

In settings, select the general tab, then about device (at the bottom). Android version is one of the items. I think this will work for Android 4 and 5 but not sure about earlier versions. In the same general tab there is Application Manager where you can force stop and uninstall apps. I'm not sure how to disable apps Hope this helps Richard Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

On disabling, IME you can usually only disable built-in apps. Or if you're lucky, bloatware. Everything else is a straight-up uninstall - you can always download again if need be. You don't always get much control short of 'rooting' the device. Some apps will let you move them to your SD card. Personally I disable the Play store once I'm done as it's requesting of data murders my phone
