A very English affair...

Council leader says sorry but faces resignation call, after telling colleague: "Just imagine him with no clothes on" (From Gazette & Herald)

I'm pretty sure councillor Clark is actually Green Arrow, too

That has been standard advice for actors and people making public appearances for donkey's years. Why the drama?

Because 'being offended' is the new black.

(awaits accusation of racism).

When I moved up from bournemouth to back home, I had a lot of stuff that I had accummulated over 6-7 years. There wasnt enough space at home so for the time being I decided to hire a storage unit. That was something like six years ago. Today, I've finally moved it all out to the new house. Just calculated that I spent in the order of £11000 for that storage.

The obvious question is - would it have been possible to buy all the items you put in the storage unit again now and how much would it have cost you to do that? If the things you stored had emotional or sentimental value, then storing them (and the cost of doing so) seems a fairly erasable thing for an outlay of roughly £80 a month. If it was just... stuff, then in the long run it probably wasn't a great decision to keep it all.

There were a few things like medical school notes. But the total cost of what was in storage I dont think would have gone above £4000, and the majority of that was car-related stuff. At the time, it was a temporary thing until I managed to sort through the stuff. But most of the time, it was forgotten about. Sometimes I would go there to get out some alloy wheels for a car show or for winter. But otherwise, I didn't go there.

It's only now that I've got my own house that I've had enough storage for everything. I'm slowly siftig through stuff now and actually there's a lot I haven't used in six years eg clothes, bedding. This is stuff that could be recycled or given away.

why on earth would you hire a storage unit? are you a cabbage? :( just go to your local truckyards and ask if theyve got any van trailers for hire or an old one for sale at a fraction of the price of a storage unit, im currently hiring a 40ft truck trailer van box unit for storage but its not costing me anything to hire for the ground or it itself as the company have forgot to charge me, they did say if I want to buy it it will be £1800 and id be able to keep it in their grounds with no charge or fee :(

This could have far ranging implications for fan-made items - US court rules the Batmobile is copyright protected.

Calling the car a character is ridiculous, as is $750k per 'reproduction'; they'll never see that money.
