Captain America - The WW2 angle really worked for me, but the pacing wasn't as good in the home stretch. Still an OK film though.

Trivia : All the 'on location' (i.e. not internal set) WWII sequences were filmed about 5 minutes away from my office. Turns out modern day Manchester looks a lot like the 1940's.

I remember reading that at the time. Careful, you'll wind up like Ulster, tripping over film crews ;)

I've just been to see Snow White And The Huntsman.

What an awesome film!

Mine's 5.

You've set me a challenge now, y'know that, right? Mark

5? Is that all? What were you doing at uni? Studying? The Rocky marathon covers that in one go... and I've done that three times! 8-)

If I were to do a bit of crude maths on how my 3rd year weekends used to work out, I'd say I was easily getting through 6-8 on average every Saturday!

If you're talking about the cinema 2.
If you're talking about on DVD, 6.
(Star Wars day).

I sometimes used to go to the Scala cinema when they were holding events like Film Extremes or a Chow Yun-Fat weekend and one could sit and watch films all day and often through the night (Shock Around The Clock). I never stayed for an all-nighter but I have probably sat through 5 movies in a day.

Don't think I've gotten beyond three at home/cinema.

I think the max has been two films. This was in the days before the broadband. After broadband and especially after the advent of smartphones, my concentration has deteriorated. This is made worse by playing COD and working as a GP where I see each patient in (around) ten minutes. Hence I struggle with anything longer than an hour, which is why it's important that a film has me gripped all the way through.

The most I can recall for certain is 9.

However I'm fairly sure I've beaten that. :?

At uni I started with Friends episode one during the day and went all the way through to breakfast the next day. Not technically films of course.

Obviously, there's going to be a finite limit to the number of 'films' you can watch in a day. If we assume 'film' means 'made to be shown in the cinema', most films aren't less than 90 minutes long. Assuming you watch films for literally the whole 24 hours of a day with say an average 10 minute break between for getting food/drink and other requirements and an average film length of 110 minutes (it seems to me, hollywood films have been getting progressively longer recently anyway), you're going to be able to watch a maximum of 12 films in that 24 hour period.

There's a lot of Hollywood films that could do with at least half an hour chopped off them

The Rum Diary - got an hour into it and switched it off, is it really that difficult to pace a film these days? The really annoying thing is everybody's great in it from what I saw, but what's the point if it's just treading water? :(

Maybe you should just watch the trailer instead if it's too slow for you? ;)

I did watch the trailer, or some of it, and guess what? It probably showed the only bits of the film worth watching, which isn't saying much going by what I caught. I mean we're talking E4 movie on a Sunday night at best here, or maybe the sort of movie I'll come to appreciate when I'm an old man, screaming at the latest remake
