"Rampart"

5 out of 10

This film has the confidence to avoid a far-fetched storyline, it has brilliant acting, especially one character played by Ben Foster who plays the most convincing homeless guy in the history of cinema, but he's only in it for one scene, and it's a dull one, like all the other scenes in the film. The same sex scene about 6 times, the same awkward family conversation about 10 times, the same confrontation with colleagues and bosses, about 4 times. This film really needed a better a screenplay, as the one it has is terrible. But still if you prefer acting to excitement, it's worth checking it out, there are boobs.

Dreadful! The premise sounds good and the first 5 minutes start off good, then Mark Wahlberg turns up as the lead and it goes rapidly downhill from there. The last 10 minutes do something to pull back 1 star.

The part with Flash Gordon is amusing, but doesn't really rate funny and is probably the highlight of the film.

All in all, 2 hours of my life that I won't get back!

:(

It did look a bit doubtful even in the TV ads.

Contrast this with one of mates who reckoned it was a classic.

I've got to say, this is the first negative review I've heard.
Mind you, it's just Stewie and Rupert from Family Guy further down the line...

Unfortunately, I didn't see any ads for it beforehand, otherwise I would have probably avoided it...

That said, it was better than the last Mark Wahlberg film, about the 2 cops, which was even worse, I think we only managed to sit there for about 30 - 40 minutes, before we walked out.

Just watched Priest, it's basically a well-crafted (really good CGI and sets) B-movie. So if that's what you're after, give it a rent or whatever. Goes off to find out more about the GN and Legion from around the same time...

Legion was good. What's GN?

Terrible isn't it. Especially the tenuous link to the board game.
