I know this was mentioned a while ago, but has anyone had any luck getting a spoiler tag to work?

Any idea of how to do it? I haven't heard from Rick since the facelift & am rather short of developers or development skills myself.

I have seen places do it with black text & a black highlight or it's like a code box that is minimised

o.k. i'm not a code monkey but here is the source code from a site I know implements spoilers:
<br /><br /><strong>SPOILER:</strong> <em>(click box to reveal/hide)</em><br /><div class='spoiler1' onclick='revealSpoiler(this);'>
Use the <a title='Comment Form' href='#commentform'>comment form</a> at the bottom of the page, to add your thoughts about 'Twin Escape'. And if you'd like to track the comments on 'Twin Escape', or generally keep up with all the gossip here at <a href='/'>lazylaces</a>, try using the <a href='http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,289893,sid9_gci1088619,00.html'>rss</a> comment feeds:<ul style='list-style:none;'><li><img align='top' height='15' width='15' class='stylebox' src='/site/rssbox.gif' alt='RSS' /> <a href='/rsshotgossip.asp?p=4294'>Twin Escape Comment Feed</a> (RSS 2.0)</li><li><img align='top' height='15' width='15' class='stylebox' src='/site/rssbox.gif' alt='RSS' /> <a href='/rsshotgossip.asp'>Lazylaces Hot Gossip</a> (RSS 2.0)</li></ul>If you don't know what <a href='http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,289893,sid9_gci1088619,00.html'>rss</a> is, or how to 'get it', and are interested, try this <a href='http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/04/04/XMLFiles/'>dummies guide</a>. Anyway, on with the comments...</div><div class="doubleline"></div><script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'>function revealSpoiler(obj) {if (obj.className=='spoiler1') {obj.className='spoiler3';}else if (obj.className=='spoiler2') {obj.className='spoiler4';}else if (obj.className=='spoiler3') {obj.className='spoiler1';}else if (obj.className=='spoiler4') {obj.className='spoiler2';}}</script>
Maybe someone can look over that and make some sense of it?

This link might be useful... LINKApologies to spider for bypassing your post... there's a 3 quote limit, and I wanted to keep this one as readable as possible!

No doubt about it, but I don't like upsetting people just for the sake of it. Usually.

seems a hell of a big package just to enable a spoiler tag though... 4Mb ??!!?? Don't know much about these things but does that seem right?

It seems OK to me... when I set up a test server a while back the add-ons all seemed fairly hefty. Also, it's not "just" a spoiler tag. It's the difference between pissing people off with Doctor Who spoilers and not...

shock news, doctor who goes up against some weird aliens, has a few laughs, and saves the planet at the last minute... I'm a fan as well, but there isn't really that much to spoil, c'mon lets be honest...

No he's not. That's the general plot of the programme and has been since it started in the sixties, but specific plot points can be annoying if given out before the programmed is aired. That's what I'm referring to.

He hasn't always saved the planet at the last minute as I recall. But hey. Either way, I haven't seen any plot points revealed about any show around here for ages. Am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything, and people areound here are good, but, (and I'm not arguing for it's own sake - OK, maybe a little ) if people want spoilers it would be good to have the option.
