Well I was planning on getting a bumper anyway even before I found out about the fault. I don't know what to do about it TBH. I'll show the guys in the Apple shop (reseller) on Saturday and ask them what to do.

Nope, nada. I just tested it for about 90 seconds and still no drop in the amount of signal I'm getting. Mark

Well you seem to be the only one. I don't understand why they didn't just make the bottom section out of a non-conductive material??

All the info you posted there is exactly the same as mine. I've really no idea why yours isn't working the same as the one I have. (8+( Mark

I was going to make some slightly sarcastic comment about the resistivity of calcium carbonate, but I can't find the data. It seems it's getting harder and harder to make egg-based jokes (yolks??? (8-p) ).

Your iPhone must be special. It doesnt seem to display the issues as others are having with the signal drop. I guess its down to the eggs-ternal antenna? I'll get my coat.

After a morning's use I've not seen mine lose network at any point, despite using all the 'normal' network functions (i.e. voice, data, sms etc) and not being particularly 'handed' in how I've used it. As I said earlier, the signal strength indicator seems very sensitive to variation but beyond that, it's functioned perfectly.

Is there a speed test app your was it subjective? In fact, I know that it's more than a display thing as I can get mine to go to "No Signal".

Entirely subjective. Just my opinion, but anyone who has a internet speedtest app for their phone needs to get out more. Fair enough. However there is a difference between being able to force it to do that and it happening in normal use.

I do, but that was from when I was working at Exeter Uni dealing with the installation of wireless access points and we were testing throughput.
