A turd in Maplin tried to tell me that my new USB stick was slow because it was 'only USB 2'. I soon made it clear that I owned quite a few sticks and that that line wasn't gonna work with me, but despite there being an order number on the back of the packaging, they apparently need to see an email confirmation... which of course diseased fcuking Outlook wasn't for displaying :x

So it'll be another trip over there.

Just emailed Amazon to ask me if they'll refund me instead of me having to return an item FOR THE FOURTH TIME because it's broken.

ION, another figure has arrived missing it's bloody hand. If Forbidden Planet wasn't extortionate I'd happily buy sh1t there, so I can't friggin' win

This figure with the missing hand... Was it: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Ash, from the Evil dead films or Phil Coulson? Becuase you know that they're supposed to be missing a hand, right?

Sorry, couldn't resist

About a year ago, we shot a poetry event for some local schools.
The idea was our students would cut it with some other footage and make a nice little video.
Suddenly, yesterday, my boss arrives in a right state asking where the project is.
Now, after a year of 'Don't worry' it's 'Where is it?'
Which, as it turns out, is a great question.
We tracked down the pro shot stuff to a hard drive in the staff room.
The stuff we shot, is nowhere to be found.
So I spend all morning working on getting something together, syncing audio to video by eye (always a joy).
But I've a feeling the drive is dying.
On a break from my afternoon teaching session I ask when the deadline is - tomorrow afternoon.
So I've got the drive home, and nothing will come off it. Error messages.
Now, I'm recovering 217GB of video files from this drive just so I can spend more time editing it.

I think I'm going to send my boss an email and say I'll be late in.

Why is Gmail so sh1te at filtering incoming mail?

Doesn't matter how many times I tell it eBay, for instance, isn't spam, it keeps sending it there. I left Hotmail because MS are incompetent, but it looks like Google isn't much better.

What happened with this in the end?

1. Been awake since 0500. No idea why I woke up but couldn't get back to sleep. Means I'm dull-headed at the moment, and tired. And I'm the duty doc today.
2. Potholes on the motorways. I had a puncture a few months back going over a pothole on the motorway. My winter tyre had a puncture (from an A-road pothole). I had a nail sticking out of the tyre found on MOT. Yesterday hit a pothole on the outer lane of the motorway and found I had a puncture. I've been to the tyre place so many times in the past three months that they recognise me now.

I went to bed about 4am, woken at 8.30am by my concerned housemate thinking I was going to be late for work. Also the guy who car shares with me had arrived, and had to make alternative arrangements.
Finally got it done by about 10.30am after a CC update to Premiere appeared to kill my issues.
Got it uploaded from work by about midday, all 918MB of it.
The 'client' was pleased with it. My boss said thank you.

I'm hoping this is at the forefront of his mind and he'll sign off my requested CPD - going on tour for a week with a band from London to Glasgow doing video/photo documentary.

It's the last day before half time at my daughter's school. We drive her there in the morning and she catches the school bus home in the afternoon.

There was a notice on the school website, advising that the bus time had been changed today, and would be picking them up at 12:40.

What they should actually have said was "The bus has been cancelled. Getting your kids home is now your problem!"

The wife is at a conference today, and couldn't get out of it, as she is one of the key note speakers, and nobody else is able to go and collect her, so guess who had to leave work, (I'm the only support engineer in... again) to go and get her?

It's almost as if god himself/herself/itself is conspiring to make me even more unpopular with the management here.

I'll be in touch with the school after the half term break, and expect answers. I am not happy.

Back in my day, us pupils were told about this beforehand (by at least a week) and we'd tell our parents. We'd usually get letters or slips to give to our parents.

Relying on the school website means you and every parent would have to check the website daily for updates. Not reasonable.
