Bloody cold here but no sign of snow.

Looks like Tuesday before we get anything at all.

It has finally started snowing here.

Not heavy though.

I wouldn't go by that. Last week when there was talk about snow it showed rain and dry skies for us on the BBC website, then we got nearly 20cm over 2 days.

A small flurry today, due some more tonight and over the next couple of days according to the weather on BBC news. According to the website we're not really going to get any more than a bit of sleet. :?

Small flurry?

I left my gf's in Teeside at 3, took me almost 3 hours to get home and it was snowing the entire time!

In Brum, there's been no more snow since the Friday night, but it's remained cold. Hence, though snow on the roads has melted, snow on rooftops and pavements remain. Forecastfox reckons it'll be -5*C tonight.

Also, rather annoyingly, the upstairs shower no longer works. This happens in winter. It means having to traipse downstairs, through the living room, through the kitchen and into the downstairs bathroom, which is a bathtub with shower attachment. Doesn't work as well but at least there's hot water coming through it.

The roads were seriously icy today, especially where the ditches overflow and freeze over. It wouldn't happen if the waterboard actually spent their millions on maintenance rather than giving it share holders or whatever they do with it.

I'm happy for any plumbers to correct me, but that rather sounds like freezing pipes which are probably going to burst one day. That can be expensive for several raisins.

I'd check where they go, and check they're lagged properly.

+1.

Need to find out where it's occurring. Once again, I'm in the predicament of not knowing how to get a decent plumber in.

I believe standard practice is 'get at least five [LIFTED] plumbers in, one after another, cursing each one, until you find one that
a) isn't an idiot
b) doesn't take you for one.'

With regards to plumbing it would be best to have a look and see if it is something you could do yourself. It may be something just as simple as putting back some lagging or insulation that has come away.

Well had a few nano seconds of snow, never settled and really was not enough to settle anyway. Menuweather shows that Tuesday and Thursday it might snow around here.

Snow is due to move in here today or tomorrow. In the East, they have had plenty of snow and the Harz mountains are now open - that is very early, for north Germany.
