Wikileaks: Swiss bank freezes Julian Assange's accountMore from the BBC here.Bin Laden could be walking through London and there'd be less effort to capture him than is being applied to Assange's case.

They've noticed that there's a lot of support so now they're trying to get the public scared. As was pointed out on the news a majority of the recent information on locations is already freely available and the rest, if it was so classified, there's no explanation as to why it wasn't top secret.

Well, if it came from the same source as the other cables, you have to ask how such material was o freely available on a US network that it appears that anyone from a grunt in the military upwards had access to. Sadly this illustrates the same issues that the Gary McKinnon case does - the USA can’t secure its own data and then has a girly hissy fit when the barriers are breached.

A Judge in Sweden threw this out last September IIRC saying there was absolutely no case to answer. Now to see the wheels of those behind the scenes in motion.

I can't help but feel both Assange and Wikileaks are being stitched up.
In particular Wikileaks - first their ISP bows out, then Paypal...and now Visa declares it won't clear payments to Wikileaks. How long until the banks stop direct transfers under pressure from the scumbags in the US Federal Government?

Quite. It's so obvious it's laughable.

So, this has nothing to do with the promised leak about the banks then, has it?

The thing is Wikileaks is more than just Assange, who has been refused bail BTW.

What do you do when America demonstrates just how corrupt, powerful and far reaching it's reign of terror is? I feel a strongly worded letter coming on. A very strongly worded letter. Possibly encrypted: http://caml.inria.fr/pub/ml-archives/ca ... 9f.en.html

Anyone see this on The Guardian website? Hilarious irony from the US State Department: Emphasis is mine. You couldn't make it up. http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/blog/201 ... ve-updates
