You made the right choice there. Direct flights are always better.

We're all planning to meet at the airport and go as a group which makes things easier. Hopefully.

I'm assuming Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

Yup. Gonna have to leave car there as so many of travelling from diff points and it costs more via train and bus than to park.

Economy or premium?

I'm paying the extra next time I fly in May. Economy for 8 hours or more is not fun unless you have 3 seats to yourself!

The 747 is a bit tired though, flying back on it when I go over in Autumn.

I fudged mine to go from Dublin and back home direct, saved a lot (more than the flight to dublin, hotel and living costs for the day) but I've got a weird itinerary as we are doing a fly drive on a double open jaw. Need to sort out hiring a muscle car and hotels :D

Back today. Had a blast. Lost $200* on blackjack and poker, went to pool parties, chatted to girls in bikinis, got a tan, got fat**, went to a stripclub***, had an awesome time and want to go back.

* sum total was $200. I had won $500 and lost $700.
** don't think they have vegetables over there. Didn't spot any. Everything was either meat or potatoes. Along with huge portion sizes and walking escalators, I can see why people are fat.
*** in the UK, there's a strictly hands-off/no touch policy. In the US, apparently it doesn't exist. Definitely didn't know what to do until the girl took my hands and showed me.

Thanks. Didn't realise how awesome it was gonna be. The only real downside is that I didn't get to enjoy any of the typical touristy things so I would want to go back and do that too.
