Find the right person and there's no stress involved at all, at least that's the way it was for me.

^^ This!

CW, whatever the plans, you're asking her to share your life as an equal partner on a permanent basis, there's going to be far more going on when you get to the actual wedded part, so if you're over-thinking this part as much as you appear to be, you'll be a basket case on the wedding day  If you plan it down to the last second she'll have wind of what you're up to long before you get to the question, if you want that then 'as you were' but if you want to surprise her then you're going to have to wing it a bit.

I had a chat with my sister over the weekend about a few things. Slight change in plans but will see how things go next week.

I guess it entirely depends on your relationship with your Mother. I didn't have any trouble at all with either my Mother or Red's, both had an amazing day and were a lovely help, definitely not a hindrance.

My advice to couples getting married is always the same:
1. Remember the wedding is about both of you - brides tend to get carried away organising the wedding of *their* dreams, without taking into account the wants of their intended.
2. Remember the wedding is about both of you - nobody else gets to dictate how you spend your big day. Do what you *both* want to do and step firmly on the neck of anyone who tries to tell you what to do!

This.

Want to give us money for the wedding? Great! You still don't get any say in anything.
