Thanks for that, and there is also a really good link on there for a PDF file which details "How to make a perfect cup of tea". Fascinating. This is how I make tea... It's the proper way. 1. Boil the kettle. 2. Pour two rounded teaspoons of granulated white sugar into a mug. 3. Rest the teaspoon on top of the sugar. 4. Gently shake the tea-bag, (take your pick - any of the supermarket brands is fine) to remove any tea-leaf type dust then drop into the cup, so it lands on the bottom of the teaspoon, which keeps it physically apart from the sugar. 5. Pour in water, directly onto tea bag, until almost full. 6. Pour on a little splash, (about 5 ml) of milk into cup 7. Gently shake, (NEVER stir) the tea bag around the cup with the teaspoon, until the drink is the desired colour. 8. Using the teaspoon, gently, (being carful not to press too hard, as the teabag can split) press the teabag against the side of the cup to squeeze out as much liquid as possible, then remove the teabag and discard. 9. Stir the cup, ensuring that the spoon reaches the bottom on order to properly dissolve the sugar. Always stir the tea clockwise. Never, I reaeat NEVER stir anti-clockwise. 10. Leave for 3 to 4 minutes to cool then drink. Hope this helps, John.

Arthur Dent would be so proud. Thing is, it's aimed at tea testers. If you are in the tea trade, the standard gives you the, um, standard way to test your tea against other blends.

How to make tea - easy.... Turn to wife and say 'brew' Note - answers/reactions may vary so it's probably best to be at least two arms length apart when implementing the request... Al

What do they know about tea?!?!?! Pah! But milk in first when from a peatot! (In this case of tea-based-frenchness, I reckon they're right by chance (8-p) )

Round here, it's phrased "Tea? I'll put the kettle on." It is then assumed the other party will complete the process.

It's my job in our house to make tea. I'm the fussy one with all the tins of tea... Dave, I bought some Rooiboi (sp?) yesterday. It's gorgeous stuff! Looks a bit like it's been picked up off a pine forest floor, but tastes great nonetheless.

At the moment at work I have some ceylon tea which I'm finding a joy to drink. I also got hooked on Earl Grey Blue Lady a while back so have a tin of that too.
I bought some tea from Tea Pigs too, their chocolate tea isn't bad, and they do a smashing rooibos with caramel. I've tried some of their white tea and I'm really not a fan...

There is nothing worse than a cup of tea which has been made with the tea bag AND milk being present in the cup at the same time. The idea makes my skin crawl.
