I made the missus a couple and I had a small one. We only had lemon in the house (I prefer orange or maple syrup on mine) but it was still really tasty.

I cheated with a Betty Crocker pancake shake mix thing. Shhhhhh

shrove tuesday is a christian event. It has to do with getting rid of stocks before beginning of lent, Bratty :) Hence why i can't understand why my shop doesn't do anything for xmas, but pushes shrove tuesday.

I think it is quite possible that Pancake Day could be a modern tradition without any reference to religion.

Shrove tuesday used to be a very big deal when i was at school. People would spend weeks making costume and then you made pancakes and apple doughnuts. But as it's always a bit cold to do a carnival it kind of disappeared

Why? Bolting a shed load of consumerism onto a traditional date for commerical gain isn't exactly subtle or sneaky.

I know. I was trying to point out that it's not a scam, and just like all of the above (less so Good Friday over here). It's not good, but it ain't no scam!

Next Tuesday (the 8th of March) is pancake day.
Make a note (or don't, it's entirely up to you).
