Don’t forget that an ‘X’ could be like a continual kiss i.e. of no more significance than a hand shake. Personally unless you are already in a relationship or its defiantly building up to one then I would treat a ‘X;’ at the end of a message like a friendly wave goodbye

I don't treat it as anything. Like "lol" for some, and "[LIFTED]" for others, it has become mere punctuation for the majority of those who use it.
