On the first page of google results, there is one that says "Go F*** Dat Gerble (Gerbil, I assume)" On further investigation, a Gerble is something else.

Sounds kind of worrying, without knowing anything about it, fingers crossed for you.

Thanks guys but we shall have to see how things go. I've had headaches for ages. I normally don't get headaches unless I've got the flu or dehydrated so the fact that I've headaches for something like six months has been significant. I've put it down to working longer hours, more time studying and hence less sleep, with chronic tiredness. Bored at work because no patients were bothering to turn up, I took my blood pressure. It was sky high. monitored it carefully over the week, I found it was high when I had headaches and normal when I didn't. Went to see my GP and he was puzzled. People under 30 don't have high blood pressure unless there is something seriously wrong. Had some blood tests done and the results aren't good. My blood count is up about a third higher than normal. My GP doesn't know why this is so he's referred me to a haematologist. In the meantime, with knowledge and Google, I've found the possible causes as: - problem with bone marrow - it can be due to cancer - it can be something that leads to leukaemia - it might be due to my asthma (unlikely because the blood count is so high). My immediate concern is that having a high blood count might lead to blood clots, in particular stroke and heart attack. Either way, whatever is the cause, it's not good news.

Here's hoping it isn't anything nasty, and you make a full recovery.

Yeah same here - hope it's something fairly trivial. And, I promise I'm not making light, but would leeches help alleviate some of the symptoms?

Depending on what it was, yes leeches could help. I don't like leeches and I don't like needles either. My money is on Polycythaema Rubra Vera as being the cause - hypertension and headaches feature in it and I have both.

At least you're aware of the situation and are getting it sorted out. I'm sure you've dealt with patients who just leave things hoping a problem will go away on its own and by the time they seek help things are a lot more serious. Here's hoping things work out well for you.

What's frustrating me is that I've been feeling like this for around six months but only just bothered to go to the doctors, so in theory I could already have been on the right treatment by now.

A teacher from my old secondary school has just pleaded guilty to grooming a thirteen year old girl. Due to be sentenced next month. The fat [LIFTED] weighed about 25 stone when I was there.
