You're right, but apparently she helps him decide what roles to take on, so I doubt she's your typical WAG considering his career.

Considering his career, I wouldn't put 'I help him choose his film roles' on my CV.

All of his recent mainstream films have been hits across genres far as I know, there might be something to it...

How about a little Jenna Dewan-Tatum?

Looking rather good there, although if Amnesia is right then she's not so "little" now

Is she famous in some fashion?

She's been in quite a few TV series and films. I know because I looked her up - I've not seen any of them!

How many times have you done that and realised that you have not seen a single thing that someone has been in?

Seriously? 'GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra' was not a hit in any genre, let alone several at a time. According to IMDB it lost roughly $25million, even including DVD sales & etc. And that's about as 'mainstream' as film gets.
Magic Mike made a lot of money, but then porn, even softcore porn pretending to have a plot, always makes money. Lots of women going to see it because they feel too embarrassed to go and see actual male strippers.

Channing Tatum has very nice abs but the acting skills of a wardrobe, and a particularly introverted wardrobe at that. The success of his films seem to correlate almost exactly with how much time he spends with his shirt off. Now, that may suggest some basic level of business sense is going on but it's not going to be able to sustain a career. Nobody will want to see him with his shirt off in 10 years time.

I only meant different genres, not like, sci-fi comedy or something

The figures I've seen elsewhere say Joe made $300+m at the BO alone. Dunno, don't care, it still made a lot of money. You've got 21 Jump Street and any number of rom-coms too IIRC, films where he wasn't headlining... I'm just saying I've seen her credited a few times as helping him make decisions on scripts and so on :|

Yes but the film cost a lot and then add in the marketing budget which is invariably two or three times the cost of the film. Ads on the sides of buses do not come cheap.

I have long doubted that the studios are spending or losing what they say they are, but I'll take a film's time in the cinema as an indicator.

I am sure that they are wasting their time with ads most of the time. Most film fans will have a rough idea of what is out now, and I suspect that I am not alone in assuming the worst when I see an ad for a film on the side of a bus or on a TV advert. In which case such ads are counterproductive.

I've often wondered about the effectiveness of advertising, especially on TV. If it's not funny I straight up don't care, and either way I'm not likely to buy, so...

Most trailers include the best bits and sometimes give away the film anyway. Your earlier comment about how long it is in cinemas for is probably a better indicator.

Sorry, I meant day to day adverts, should have made that clear.

I think that the point of advertising is to create brand awareness so that you are aware of it when it comes to your next buying decision. If you are looking for a particular item, an ad will make you think of that brand.
