Alan Moore's Writing for Comics - basically an article he wrote for a fanzine in '85 about what he considerd the state of comics writing (not only was he right then, he was ahead of his time). There's also a section on contemporary writing but I haven't gotten that far yet. All in a graphic novel format with comic panels (no idea what they're from if anything) breaking up the text where necessary.

Eye of the Storm - Peter Ratcliffe http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eye-Storm-Years ... 296&sr=1-1It's OK, but you get the impression he didn't have much of a story overall, or the MOD lawyers ripped it to shreds

Beautiful Corpses (Schöne Leichen) from Falko Radamacher.
It is the second in the Lisa Becker series, the first was funny, lots of black humour and a good crime novel as well.
Lisa comes from the province in the Eifel and moves to Berlin to become a police detective. She is a overweight and unhappy with her body and has fallen head over heals for her colleague. The first novel sees them trying to find a serial killer who is running around decapitating people with a butcher's axe.
The second one has the pair running around after somebody who is leaving a string of very dear, very naked and very beautiful young men behind them. The trail leads them to a narcissistic art scene, fully of eccentric sexaholics.

Peacemaker was absolutely brilliant except for a couple of bloodthirsty streaks in two characters that didn't ring true... back to the aforementioned SAS book.

I'll finish it cos I'm about 70% through, but the guy seemingly has so little to do with operations personally that he's having a go at other soldiers and their books

I'm working my way through Tripwire (Reacher) as for every new one I read I now go back and read an old one. I've also bought The Hundred Year Old Man... which I'm looking forward to. Also, Kindle Paperwhite FTW!

Jesus wept, I couldn't even finish the Kindle samples of David Mitchell and Miranda Hart's autobiographies. They're written in 'TV persona', which is fine on the box, but doesn't exactly work if you're reading it and not laughing In happier news, I'm also reading The Untouchables, two former writers for The Guardian investigating the Met. What's been interesting so far is that the Met. is so corrupt that it starts to corrupt the senior officers investigating the corruption!

Just taken delivery of The Daylight War, book three of Peter V Brett's Demon Cycle trilogy. Been a while so I'm going to re-read books 1 and 2 first.
