Anyone seen Dredd yet?

I don't know anyone who's even expressed an interest in going to see it   :(
I've a mate who saw it and she reviewed it in one word : Dreddtastic.
I'm quite interested in seeing it, but it reminds me of another film that I've just recently seen called The Raid : Redemption.
Police get trapped inside an apartment block of a gangland boss and have to fight their way out.
I suspect Dredd will be less martial arts and more Lawgiver.

I mentioned The Raid in a thread after seeing the Dredd trailer :)

I might go and see it next weekend or something.

According to Empire, that's what takes the shine off.

*makes note*

FYI IMDB Trivia: Kevin Smith wrote the script around the same time he was writing Zack and Miri Make a Porno and presented them both to the Weinstein brothers. They immediately gave the green light to Zack and Miri Make a Porno, but declined on Red State fearing its story was too bleak to attract an audience. Had they green lit, Red State would've been shot back to back with Zack and Miri.

As did I, great cast, was waiting for Leo Di Caprio to show up though.

I think it also worth noting that I recently also watched both Haywire and The Hunger Games. Both were very very poor. :x

And, since it's been a while since I've contributed to this monstrously succesful thread of mine, I should also like to add :

YOU ALL HAVE TO WATCH TROLL HUNTER!
8-)

That's the third recommendation I've had for that film.

Just watched Green Lantern. Disappointing. I was basically new to the character. What I knew of him I'd learnt largely from The Big Bang Theory. Some of it was done really well and I was impressed. But some were cringeworthy scenes and this is what devalued it for me. 3/5 for now.

I went in with low expectations of The Hunger Games, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Then I Would like to make it 4, fantastic film with some really good ideas.

I would also recommend Juan of the Dead. The first zombie film to come out of Cuba, stands on it's own as an excellent take on the genre but also manages to follow the old Romero idea of political commentary, both obvious and subversive.

I enjoyed it. Had read poor reviews so wasn't expecting much so I took it for what it was.

I believe Ryan and Blake are now married in real life.
