Never say you're great, always say something like, ah good but I'm a little overworked at the moment --> oh really where do you work, ah well I work at XXXX but it's only for a few months because I'm planning XXXXX how's things with XXXX? Of course they may look at you funny if you actually say exexexexexex.

Observation:
Had a phone call over the weekend from a mate complaining about this girlfriend wanting him to move in, but he's not that into her that he want's to do so. She's nice and all, but...
At which point he asks me about my love life. “Nothing doing,” say I.
”Ah mate, sort it out”
”Hang on mate, you've spent 10 minutes complaining about being with a girl, what, pray tell, is so damn wonderful about it? I've just spent 10 minutes listening to you whinge about it. What, am I meant to think 'Yeah I need that grief in my life.' ?”

She is, in fact, lovely But she's just my best friend.... And I'm not even that good at maintaining that! So how I'm supposed to do anything else is beyond me. Oh well  Sorry to disappoint Sas.
