We're 99.99% sure that a family friend was a spy. He was a gun expert and managed to get guns in to the Eastern block during the cold war and was always away offering very little explanation. He's very cagey when his kids ask him about it (when I say kids they're all in their 50s now)

The Official secrets Act is for life, not just for Christmas (at least in some cases).

I've had to sign the official secrets act several times in my life.
I think it is for 25 years or while in service, but I wouldn't like to test it - especially with some of the things that justified it.

I've been vetted and had to sign the OSA as well, but as an external contractor you will see different things and be less restricted than a spy, for example.

That said, I didn't see anything during my time that would fall under OSA, except the personal information in the personnel database. Nothing "sexy".

My face is a mess today.

I was sitting in the lounge last night and the big (1.5M) cactus decided that its pot was too small and fell over, whacking me in the face! My wife spent the next half hour with tweezers pulling needles out of my face and hands.

Ouch! Surely a candidate for a Tail of Fail.

I had much fun moving house once with a very spiky cactus that was 4 - 5 foot tall. The only way to transport the thing was in the front of the removal van with the pot on the floor between my legs, as much bubble wrap as possible round the cactus an pair of heavy duty winter gloves in case it decided to tip over. Went round the corners very carefully. Suffice to say, next time I moved house the cactus didn't come with me.

There are some places the internet shouldn't penetrate.
