Interesting take on why Queen Theresa appears to be trying to go for a hard Brexit:

That was a joyous read. It really makes me glad that we were tipped into the abyss by isolationist f**kwits, and d!ckheads who thought that a protest vote would be cool and not really matter.

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-37639307Good. Bit sick of legality being overtaken by politics. That said, I'll be astounded if a judge properly considers it...

This is, of the Judge decides that, yes, May can trigger A50 without a mandate from Parliament, then it opens the door to the repeal of any Act without proper parliamentary scrutiny. Leaving the EU will require a lot of legal unpicking of things, as well as repealing certain Actions passed to enable EU membership. If that can be done on a whim, then what else can be dropped in a similar fashion? There could be far reaching consequences on the back of this case.

On the plus side, it's Lord Pannick opposing the government.

You forget this government has already done that to get some of it's welfare reforms through parliament - quickest way to get the story is to google 'legislative instruments'. And it was also the (effectively) current administration that, after being found to have done something illegal, changed the law to make their actions legal and then applied the new law retrospectively to their past actions to get themselves out of a hole.
It's not like they're disregarding parliament & the law over this particular issue, they've basically disregarded them whenever they could get away with it since they started. It's just this time some of their own back benchers are complaining about it not just the opposition parties.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-37788882It's in the EU's interest for all the nationalistic anger that'll be coming it's way alone.
