Batman's cooler.
That was about it.

That's ridic!

Batman's smarter, richer, older, and looks better in black. But I wouldn't say he's cooler.

Let's say this:

WWE style wrestling match - Spidey
UFC style match - Spidey
Movie sequence - Probably Spidey
Real life street fight in a favella in Rio - Bats.

See, as strong and well developed as Bat's is, Spidey is faster, stronger and has the whole extra sensory thing going for him.
I'd be amazed if Bats could land much of a punch on him.
Also - web shooters. "The web line's tensile strength is estimated to be 120 pounds per square millimeter of cross section." (source).
So unless Bats is capable of wriggling out of that, I'm going with 'Hung up to dry.'

Fair one. But past experience has shown us that plenty of people have landed a punch, so why not Bats?

The key to it is to get inside the guard and mess with Spidey from right up in his face. You're right, getting there would be difficult, but Bat's knowledge of the human(/spidey) body and ability to manipulate it would pay dividends there. At anything from kicking distance to the outside of visual range Spidey has the edge, but beyond that it's back to Bats with his superior intelillect and access to tech/resources.

I wonder if they'll ever try to tie the Venom movie into it, after the last shambolic appearance I mean.

Why do they feel the need to reboot something that's only a few years old.
Try coming up with something original FFS!

To risk the cash they need to have an established brand, just look at John Carter.

Neil Gaiman Returning to 'Sandman'

ION and as I'm about to post in the TDKR IMAX thread, some Yank talk show host has apparently ruined the ending - I'm not going anywhere near the story for obvious reasons

' Luther Vandross started blasting through the huge Hall H sound

system, cutting off Feige talking about being about halfway through filming of IM3. He

trails off and then the screens fill with live, handheld footage of a curtain that draws back

and reveals Robert Downey Jr. who proceeds to dance his way down the aisle of the 6500

people strong crowds, throwing out high fives with his right hand clad in an Iron Man

gauntlet complete with glowing palm.

He didn’t just go down the first section, that dude danced all the way to the back before

turning around and heading back up to the Hall H stage.'
