Just watched Assault on Arkham. Blown away by it. Would rank it as one of the best animated comic films I've seen. The plot's probably ripped off some films I haven't watched or have forgotten about. I was impressed with the animation quality, and they used a lot of designs from Arkham Asylum/City. I swear there was even a diss about Origins. Lots of topless nudity (unseen - it was only a 15), and swearing (heard the W-word).

Some show, wasn't it? The violence was brutal all things considered! What was the reference to Origins, must have missed that.

My bad. King Shark says he's never heard of a few characters incl Firefly so I thought they were talking about the enemies in Origins (partly because the whole film had an Arkham City vibe to it).
The actual line was something along the lines of "Firefly, Killer Moth, Maxie Zeus - never heard of them". More I guess a rip of a minor character who hasn't heard of other minor characters.

Just read the collected edition of 'Death of the family.' I was very impressed by both the writing and the artwork and I notice that Scott Snyder (I presume) has added little bits here and there to clarify what is going on. For example, a confusing sequence in no.15 where Batman mysteriously loses his gauntlets just so he (as a plot point) has to touch the Joker's face now has a couple of monologue boxes as Batman explains that he's GOT to free himself BY losing the gauntlets. The original version didn't make sense, so it's good that these things are being cleared up.
I hope DC can keep the Snyder/Capullo team working on Batman when their initial contract runs out.

And I'd forgotten how much easier it is to read actual paper comics/graphic novels than on a screen. Well, in my opinion anyway.

That sort of thing is a real problem with the UK reprints, though they try their best with the space available. A ten inch screen isn't too problematic but ideally you'd want eleven or twelve inches. Madam.

There's a new theme-park ride arriving in the U.S. next year. Looks good. (8+) Mark

I was more interested in Snyder's Batmobile pic in that link. It's not great in first impression though. First I'd seen it due to ISP FAIL
