Think I read the 7th Reacher novel - Persuader. Other than some interesting points, it just didn't have the wow factor or pizzazz ending that I got from the others. I just didn't feel satisfied. I'm starting to think the first five novels were awesome.

Just got Bad Machinery - The Case Of The Team Spirit by John Allison. Excellent story and great art from the creator of Scary Go Round.

Just read 3 pages of Frenemy, a comic about a female socialite who works for the CIA. I could download the first issue for free and I still won't be doing it. I suspect 'women's humour'

Not a book but a poem from c. 1700 by Jonathan Swift. http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/180935#poemI was looking up the origins of Cybermen... I did read a book this week though. A very short one called something like "life of a couple of twenty-somethings", a prequel to thirty-somethings. There was a lot of smoking in it. It raised a smile twice. I shan't be bothering with the main course.

The Dr. Siri series from Colin Cotterill, I heard the first one as an audio book, read by Jan Josef Liefers, who plays a pathologist on Tatort and has a wonderful reading voice.

Episode 11 of Giant Size podcast had a very good interview with John Allison. If you're interested it can be downloaded here.

Well I obviously haven't got every book I've ever read but I'm trying to keep it up to date. Also a good way of recording books you want to read.

Thanks for that! Pity the poor quality of Mr Allison's voice over Skype made it a difficult listen for me... Are you a fan of John Allison's work?

I'd never heard of Mr Allison or his work before the podcast (which is a regular download) but I am a fan now. I thought he came across really well so I thought I'd check out his work. I like his art style, and the stories - which I am well underway with online - are good too.

Where have you started? Bad Machinery can be read in isolation, but some of the more obscure references will make a lot more sense if you read Scary Go Round first. (although that will take a long time!)
