Found it. A single loose screw on one of the wheels.

Is it just me that thought you'd joined l3v1ck at sea on first reading that? Vibrations on a rig, not the fans or the pumps - possibly due to a sub ?

There's always vibrations for the fans, mud pumps, engines, air con etc. If there isn't any it means something's wrong The only time I've heard peace and quiet on a rig before, was when there was a power cut. All I could hear was the drill pipe rattling round the derrick in the wind. It was quite eerie.

So, I've just sat at my desk and watched my boss bray sh*t out of the photocopier for 10 minutes, slamming the trays in and out, half-ripping bits of jammed paper out instead of easing it out gently in one piece. Then he proceeds over to my desk to inform me that *someone* has broken the photocopier. Someone?!!! Er, that would be you, you sausage-fingered f**ker. So, now I'm the one that has got to call the engineers out to it and they'll think it was me who broke it and give me the dirty looks! Oh, the joys of being "IT Support" - actually, that's a laugh - it's just that everyone else is too clueless to know how to fix stuff. Grrr!

[LIFTED] [LIFTED] coded [LIFTED] w*nk crap code
Why am I always maintaining others crap? It's taking time out of my project that is already behind thanks to external issues and means I'll need to come in this week to hit the deadline

Suggest that they get a CCTV to oversee the photocopier since it is clearly abused and see if the boss twigs that he was the one damaging it?

Home server got hacked, caught them after they had just installed Xampp on it, breaking my media streaming to my work machine
Sure multiple people had used it, they even left some pages in the history of western union and xbox.com as well as leaving an email crawling piece of software, presumably for sending out spam
Thay have had access for nearly a month so not taking any chances, going to flatten it, install WHS as a virtual machine and set it up that way so I can lock it down more where possible

That is nasty, but at least you detected it. Many users have no clue that it is happening. I have Little Snitch running blocking any apps that I do not remember installing.

Yeah I was too complaicent and not defensive enough, it was hardly locked down and the default admin account stayed the same and the other account I had also had admin access

I've been reading about the default and obscure access to Asterisk PBX installations. It makes me nervous to deploy the one I'm doing, knowing it could cost a million pounds in a few days if I fail to lock it down enough...

Well after an article at the other place about admin accounts about three years ago I decided to up my security even though I have macs. I now have an admin account and my main account is a simple user account with no privileges. Then using a password manager (1Password) to have a 50 digit WPA2 wireless password, as well as passwords as long as possible for all my 226 logins. Then as firewalls are up and Little Snitch keeps an eye on all outgoing traffic as well. So I feel safe but am still vigilant. You can never be too careful I think.

Since when did having a "Baby on board' sign in the rear window of my car become an invitation for white van men to tailgate me? One of the [LIFTED] was only about 6 feet behind at times....if I'd had to stop suddenly the [LIFTED] would have ploughed straight into me. The other one driving similarly was drinking out of a can instead of paying attention to the road.

I hate to say it, but those 'Baby On Board' signs are only there to salve your conscience, not any body else on the road. It's an old gag, but when I see one of those am I meant to think 'Oh, ok, I won't intentionally ram your car then.' Nobody drives around with the intention of hitting other people, and a 'Baby on Board' sign won't make other drivers be careful. Potentially, their only use is for the fire brigade responding to a road accident, so they can bare in mind that there might be a baby to look for. Of course, that's only useful if people display those signs when, y'know, there's actually a baby on board.
