Quite possibly! I'll be in London for at least 2 days while we're there if not more.

I dare you to covertly crank it up in your local town centre and film the response. A youtube video would be sufficient evidence.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Matt, you know Bratty, saying something like that is like a red rag to a bull... And that isn't smart. That said, the firebrigade still use them over here to summon the firefighters, when there is an emergency.

Many years ago I used to live in the centre of Birmingham. On the night the first gulf war started, there was a fire at Birmingham New Street train station that set it's major fire alarm off. Which just happens to be a massive great siren that sounds just like the one Bratty's got his hands on. It was a quiet, calm day and I could hear the siren clearly from several miles away were I was was. According to the papers the next day, that siren went off and most of the centre of Birmingham s**t itself, because everyone thought we were about to get bombed. People running out of shops, fights breaking out, all that kind of stuff. In hindsight, very amusing.

Yes you and Big D are right that we are too complacent, but then are so many device manufacturers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

These device makers (Netgear, D-Link, Cisco etc.) were responsible for the UPnP fiasco in February, several million home routers out on the Internet with the UPnP port open on the Internet side!
a) UPnP shouldn't be on by default b) It should NEVER be available on the Internet side!

In all fairness, most people who buy a router would expect things to "just work" - ie UPnP to be turned on. However, only on the client side...
