Capello confirmed as staying on as England manager.

Good. So long as he brings in new blood and figures out why, when it worked so well in qualifying, he didn't use a 4-3-2-1 formation in the World Cup. :D

I agree - it's good that he is staying.

In other news - Holland just scored so it's now 1-1. Terrible goalkeeping.

It seems stupid to get rid of him when it would cost so much anyway. Plus it was not his fault.

I think that the altitude training might not have helped.

Seems to be a curse with just about all other teams at some stage or another. He doens't even have the excuse of it being because the pitch is so poor seeing as it was in the air. :D

I think that was one factor, there are probably many.

I was speaking to a mate about this, he used to play rugby and said that on rare times that they did train on a match day they were completely buggered by the time the match started. Apparently they had the England team training on match days, at least once.

I think it depends - if the game is quite late in the evening, spending an hour jogging around a field and running through some set pieces can only help, surely?

I played rugby until a couple of years ago and we played many one-day tournemounts, with normally about an hour between games - we used to spend half of it training at half pace.

Crikey - the Dutch have just gone a goal up!

I thought they may give them a run for their money. I am hoping as well, I still have 100/1 running on Uruguay who are playing well at the mo but I think would make a better shot of it over Holland. :D

Only got teh tail end of the foul, what was it for? From what I can see it was a straight red.

Nope, apparently straight red for stamping. BBC text commentary is slooooooooow.

Saw the stamping after the foul again. Nasty. No wonder it was a straight red.

Brazil turned out to be as petchulant and as dirty as any other team.

Uruguay v Ghana.

Come on Uruguay, keep my bet alive :D

Been the most consistent team for me so far and they have a cracking attack.
