What about hot chocolate or hot milk? Always sends me off if I have trouble sleeping

I've tried but sometimes, perversely, they keep me awake.

Maybe it's the caffeine content.

I'm quite sensitive to caffeine. I tend not to drink tea, and hate the taste of coffee. If I really need the caffeine, it's a can of redbull. Hot chocolate is something I might drink to keep me warm, but I generally don't drink anything except water (or squash, ribena etc) from about 6pm, and no redbull from 3pm unless I'm prepared to accept the consequences.

I've just had some leftover chips from a sublime fish'n'chips (with mushy peas) for lunch.

But as usual, the outer coating is quite tough and the chips don't taste as nice microwaved as they do when freshly cooked.

Any ideas on how to make them taste better?

Eat them fresh :P

Putting them on an oven tray and warming that way would be better, works well with roast potatoes.

or just warm them up in over a very low heat in a pan. Also works for roasties.

You'd probably sleep better if you cut the crap out of your diet TBH.

Less fatty foods and drinks packed full of sugar before you go to bed. They certainly aren't going to help you get back to sleep if you have them in the early hours.

I don't eat huge amounts of crap. That fish meal was the first one in about two months. The pizza I've had is the first in about three weeks. I do treat myself now and again but TBH it's rather rare these days.

As said before, I drink only water (or maybe no added sugar squash) after 6pm. My diet, though not immaculate, kz good and helluva lot better than when i first had insomnia issues.

For me, slacking my sleep hygiene is the main cause of my insomnia. But not always.
