If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Interesting. Perez in the Sauber is managing to just 1 stop this race. They must have worked some magic on tyre degredation...
That'll get the others thinking, especially Ferrari.

Good first race, shame Button lost the plot for a while but good to recover to 6th place.

Apologies for only approving people tonight; I've been in London this weekend. Your points and everything still count, and you are now fully-fledged members. It's a bit frustrating having to approve everyone, but it's the only way that's allowed for most types of league.

Sauber DQ decision sucks. Nice one for Petrov. How is Buttons overtake on Massa any different to Vettel on Button? In both cases the overtake was always going to happen as the following car was quicker. Massa going to pits was a sure fire way to guarantee a drive through for Button but not much was made of Vettels overtake on Button, Vettel clearly left the track to overtake but no penalty given. The stewards also take far too long on making these decisions, they have all the footage and data on hand, I am no fan of Mclaren, or any one team for that matter, but when the team radio Race Control to ask what they want to happen they should at least get a response.

The difference is that button effectively shortened the track while vettel lengthened it. I agree that it's not entirely fair but these situations have always been looked at like this.

Consider just how slow Massa seems to be these days, does anyone think he will ever anything other than number two at Ferrari?
Yes, I know it may be linked to his accident, I'm not trying to be mean about him. I just think his days are numbered at team red, unless they want to build the team around Alonso and Massa is happy to play rear gunner a la Schumacher & Irvine/Barrichello.
I'm not too bothered about the points finish for Button, it happens; at least they are competitive.
Overall I really enjoyed the race - I heard the commentary team say more than once that it wasn't a stunning GP, but I found it gripping.
The varying tyre degradation, is going to make things interesting - especially if the team has to react quickly to the tyres suddenly going off, rather than planning a strategy long before the race begins.
